Yahoo Sports is assembling a roster of gold medalists to anchor its multi-platform video coverage of the Milan-Cortina Olympic Games. Nathan Chen, Julia Mancuso, and Apolo Ohno will deliver expert analysis and behind-the-scenes features that help fans understand the competition’s biggest storylines.
The correspondents – representing a combined 15 Olympic medals – will provide:
- Recaps and analysis of the figure skating (Chen), alpine skiing (Mancuso), and speed skating (Ohno) competitions.
- Features that bring fans behind the scenes in Italy, helping them connect to the culture around the Games.
- Insights that help fans better understand everything from how event scoring works to what goes through athletes’ minds before they compete.
Their coverage will be available across multiple Yahoo Sports platforms and channels, including yahoosports.tv, YouTube, and social media. Chen, Mancuso, and Ohno will also contribute to the newly-launched Yahoo Sports Network free streaming TV channel, highlighted by remote appearances on the Yahoo Sports Daily live morning show.
The correspondents are uniquely qualified to bring their expertise to the Yahoo Sports audience.
- Chen is the 2022 Olympic figure skating champion; he also won a team event gold medal in 2022 and a team event bronze medal in 2018.
- Mancuso is a four-time Olympic medalist, winning a gold in the Giant Slalom in 2006, silvers in the Downhill and Super Combined in 2010, and a bronze in the Super Combined in 2014.
- Ohno is the most decorated U.S. Winter Olympian in history, with eight medals in short-track speed skating across the 2002, 2006, and 2010 Olympic Games. This includes two gold, two silver, and four bronze medals.
“Nathan, Julia, and Apolo know what it takes to compete – and win – on the world’s biggest stage,” said Sam Farber, Head of Yahoo Studios and Sports Content. “We look forward to them bringing their expertise and insights to fans across platforms during the Olympics.”
Video coverage will begin rolling out across Yahoo Sports platforms and channels later this month, with coverage ramping up once the games begin in February.
