Introducing Blueprint IQ: Native AI Agents in Yahoo DSP

For most media buyers, the challenge isn't just knowing what action to take; it's having the right context to understand what's happening and make the best decision. Before taking an action, they need to gather context, collect the necessary data, and connect the information needed to make an informed decision.

This is the gap that AI agents are designed to close. At Yahoo DSP, we believe agentic AI should reduce the manual work that happens before action, not replace the trader's expertise in making decisions.

That's the philosophy guiding our AI strategy. We're building native AI agents directly into Yahoo DSP to simplify everyday workflows and help traders focus on higher-value strategic decisions.

In an industry where almost every AI capability risks being labeled an "agent"-a trend often referred to as agentwashing-we're taking a more intentional approach. Not every workflow needs an autonomous agent, and not every problem is best solved with AI. Traditional workflows, deterministic automation, and APIs remain essential parts of the DSP experience. We introduce AI agents in areas that meaningfully reduce friction, accelerate investigation, and help buyers get to answers faster.

This approach comes to life in Yahoo DSP through Blueprint IQ, our suite of native AI experiences, starting with two of the most time-consuming workflows for DSP buyers: finding information and diagnosing campaign issues.

Blueprint IQ: Native AI Experiences in Yahoo DSP

Blueprint IQ is the AI intelligence layer behind every native Agentic experience in Yahoo DSP. It brings together our in-platform agents under a single experience designed to help buyers find answers faster, troubleshoot campaigns more efficiently, and spend less time navigating the DSP. Today, Blueprint IQ includes two native AI agents: the Enhanced Help Agent and the Troubleshooting Agent.

The Enhanced Help Agent: Answers That Understand Context

Getting answers in a DSP shouldn't require searching through dozens of help articles or guessing the right keywords.

The Blueprint IQ Help Agent is an enhanced version of our existing Help Center, reimagined as a conversational AI assistant. Powered by a knowledge graph, a connected map of information across Yahoo DSP, it understands how campaigns, audiences, targeting, budgets, and inventory relate to one another. This allows it to answer questions with context and reasoning rather than simply matching keywords or returning a list of help articles.

This delivers a fundamentally different experience from traditional keyword search:

  • More relevant answers grounded in multiple trusted sources.
  • Better understanding of conversational, multi-part questions.
  • Suggested follow-up questions that help users explore topics naturally.
  • A more accurate and connected understanding of how the platform works, reducing the likelihood of incomplete or misleading responses.

The result is less time searching for information and more time putting it into action.

The Troubleshooting Agent: From Surfacing Issues to Explaining Them

Our Troubleshooting Agent proactively surfaces underdelivering lines and highlights the key exclusion reasons impacting delivery. But knowing what is preventing a line from delivering is only half the battle. The harder question is why.

Historically, understanding why a line wasn't delivering required opening reports, reviewing settings, comparing forecasts, and piecing together information across the platform.

The new “Tell Me More” capability brings that investigation into the workflow by automatically analyzing the root cause of an exclusion and explaining what's happening, why it's happening, and what actions the buyer can consider next.

Unlike a traditional chatbot, users don't need to know what to ask. The analysis begins as soon as the experience opens, bringing together the relevant campaign settings, forecasts, audience information, and exclusion details into a single conversational view. From there, suggested follow-up questions allow buyers to continue investigating without starting from scratch.

This transforms troubleshooting by:

  • Explaining why a line isn't delivering, not just identifying what's blocking it.
  • Automatically gathering the relevant campaign settings, forecasts, audience information, and exclusion details into a single view.
  • Starting the investigation immediately, without requiring the user to write a prompt.
  • Providing guided follow-up questions that make it easy to dig deeper into the issue.
  • Making campaign diagnostics more accessible for both experienced traders and newer users through a conversational interface.

These are just the first Blueprint IQ experiences. As we continue to expand Blueprint IQ, we'll introduce additional AI agents that simplify complex workflows and give buyers more time to focus on strategy. Next up is the Blueprint IQ Audience Assistant Agent, which enables users to quickly search for and create audiences in just seconds.

Together, Blueprint IQ and the Agent Network reflect our broader vision for Agentic AI in Yahoo DSP, combining native intelligence with an open ecosystem so buyers can work with the agents and workflows that best fit their needs.
